The corpus included 200 conference abstracts, of which 100 were written by Iranian novice writers and 100 by English native speakers. Each group of texts consisted of 50 abstracts from soft sciences and 50 from hard sciences. Following Liu's (2008) taxonomy, the frequency and type of conjunctions were examined. The results revealed that non-native writers use more conjunctions in their conference abstracts. Furthermore, it was found that compared to hard sciences, more conjunctions are employed in soft sciences. Regarding the role of L1, the results showed that non-native writers in soft sciences are more likely to use conjunctions. Moreover, the findings indicated that the most frequent conjunction type used by both native and nonnative writers are adversatives and additives in soft sciences, and additives and adversatives in hard sciences, respectively. The findings of the study have implications for teaching academic writing and material development for writing courses. هدف اصلی مطالعه حاضر، بررسی کلمات ربط در چکیده های کنفرانسی است. متون مورد بررسی، شامل 200 چکیده است که 100 چکیده توسط نویسندگان کم تجربه تر ایرانی و 100 چکیده توسط نویسندگان انگلیسی بومی نوشته شده است. هر گروه از متون شامل 50 چکیده از علوم نرم و 50 چکیده از علوم سخت می باشد. با استفاده از طبقه بندی لیو (2008) ، فراوانی و نوع کلمات ربط، مورد مطالعه قرار گرفت. نتایج نشان داد که نویسندگان غیر بومی، از کلمات ربط بیشتری استفاده می کنند. همچنین ، مشخص شد که در مقایسه با علوم سخت ، کلمات ربط بیشتری در علوم نرم به کار می رود. در مورد نقش L1 ، نتایج حاکی از آن بود که نویسندگان غیر بومی در علوم نرم تمایل بیشتری به استفاده از کلمات ربط دارند. علاوه بر این ، یافته ها نشان داد که متداول ترین نوع کلمات ربط که توسط نویسندگان بومی و غیر بومی مورد استفاده قرار می گیرد ، به ترتیب adversatives و additives ، در علوم نرم و additives و adversatives ، در علوم سخت است. نتایج این پژوهش، برای آموزش مهارت نوشتن متون دانشگاهی ونیز تهیه مواد درسی برای دوره های آموزش این مهارت کاربرد خواهدداشت. https://efl.shbu.ac.ir/article_133236_021548bbe3ae5e8b672a855e1c470316.pdf
